Sting® operates from any 110v, 20-amp power supply and delivers 3000 degrees of heat in a matter of seconds. However, even with so much power, the heat is easily controlled with the conveniently placed switch on the hand set. Delivering a maximum of 8 volts AC when in use ensures the STING® is completely safe in any situation. And STING® comes complete with a handy cart for easy transportation.

In addition, electrode extensions, for accessing those difficult to reach spots inside a wall or ceiling are among several accessories that are available for use with STING®. Others include thawing cables, for thawing up to 20 feet of frozen water pipe and grounding cables, together with a foot switch, to make repetitive bench assembly work so much easier. electrode extensions, for accessing those difficult to reach spots inside a wall or ceiling are among several accessories that are available for use with STING®. Sting® will never eliminate the use of a flame. However, for soldering, silver brazing or making soldered electrical connections, STING® is a sensible alternative. This is especially true where the use of an open flame poses a fire hazard, a "hot work permit" or "fire watch" is required, or where the use or transportation of gas cylinders is not allowed (as in a prison).

Sting® will solder and silver solder any job usually done with a flame, quicker, safer and without the risk of fire. STING is completely self-contained and is UL listed.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will Sting® work with lead free solder?
Yes. And with Siphons or silver brazing rod down to 5% silver.

How long are the cables and can I have them longer?
The cables are 10 feet long and are at their maximum length for best performance.

Does Sting® need special fluxes or fittings?
No. Anything you would use with a flame is good with Sting®.

Fires from torches do happen.
They may not always happen to someone else!

According to the NPFA, in the period of 1991-1995 there were 4,560 fires caused by a torch NOT INCLUDING those caused by cutting or welding torches. These resulted in eight civilian deaths, one hundred and fifty injuries and more than $85 million in property damage.
