The 420D features

All new silver case and includes a new ergonomically designed lay flat handle.
An easy access storage compartment for reducers to freeze 8mm to 42mm runs along the top rear.
New case body has three openings where hoses and mains lead can be slotted so the machine can be used with the lid closed.

New specifications

Freeze heads retain the original patented features but are designed to fit straight onto 42mm pipes with reducer fittings to suit and the fixing screw changed to an M6 thread
The 420D aluminium heads & reducers have a smart silver anodised finish
Spare reducer screws are supplied and stored in two panel fixings between the hose positions
Compatibilty with earlier models is retained by using the 35mm fitting
The 420D has new multilayer hoses with fittings and manifold attachments designed for the latest demands in cryogenic apparatus
Assembly of the 420D is carried out with the same strict attention to quality and control inculcated in the former design resulting in a performance machine that can freeze 42mm copper pipes up to 25% faster

Can I freeze running water?
As a general concept the answer is no. However, because the temperature of the freeze heads on the Freeze Master® will drop to minus 40 degrees there are certain conditions where this will be possible.

I have glycol in my heating/cooling system for protection.
Will Freeze Master^® work for me?
Yes. If you have frost protection down to -20 degrees, Freeze Master® will freeze it. Freeze times however will be longer.

How long are the hoses and can they be longer?
The hoses are six feet and they cannot be made longer without considerable loss of freeze capability. As the Freeze Master® is completely self contained and portable, it is usually a simple matter to locate the unit near the job site no matter where you are working.

I need to freeze a 6 inch pipe, will Freeze Master^® do this?
No. Without going into an explanation about thermal dynamics, we have elected to stay with the portability, safety and convenience of 110 volts.

I have high water pressure, will the ice plug hold?
We have tested copper and steel pipe to 1400 psi without moving the ice plug (the pipe did burst, however).

Will I bust the pipe when I freeze it?
No. Only a small section of the pipe is frozen, allowing for expansion beyond the area of the freeze.

It is totally self contained and vents nothing into the surrounding air, making it completely safe in any environment. Freeze Master® is a portable refrigeration unit that plugs into any 110v outlet or generator.
Freeze Master® will form either one or two ice plugs, depending on the job at hand. One ice plug can be formed to produce a "portable ball valve" to stop the flow of water. Two ice plugs allow a section of pipe, a valve, meter, or other item to be isolated, without having to shut down large sections of a building and draining the water. Freeze Master® will maintain the freeze indefinitely, eliminating the possibility of the ice plug(s) thawing before the job is finished. Thawing is often a concern of users of CO2, due to the possibility of running out of gas. In addition, Freeze Master® needs no monitoring during or after the freeze, or while the job is being completed, even if it takes considerably longer than planned. Full attention can be given to the job at hand without having to constantly open and close valves to introduce more CO2 to the freeze area. You don't have to push dry ice around in the bag as it forms, to get it evenly positioned around the pipe, only to have to keep repeating the process. Lastly, with the Freeze Master®^,you do not have to wear breathing apparatus or ventilate a confined space as nothing is ventilated to the atmosphere. With Freeze Master® it's a simple matter of fitting the freeze head to the pipe, turning the unit on and leaving it to look after itself. By the time you get the tools from your truck or the parts from your shop the plug will have formed. Three FREEZE MASTER^® models are available to handle pipe from 1/2" to 3". Adapters are available for the FRE610D to form one ice plug in a 3" pipe.

	How long does it take to freeze a pipe using the Freeze Master? Freeze times will depend on a number of variables, i.e., pipe size and material, water and ambient temperatures. However, the following is a representative guide to freeze times, using 70 degree ambient and 50 degree water.
